The Seattle Police Department said two people in their 20s were injured Saturday during a shooting Saturday near the Columbia City neighborhood.
Carol Dillon stopped us outside the beauty salon where she has worked for more than 20 years to tell us her son, Curtis Hudson, was shot a few feet away.
He told her a man he did not know drove up, they exchanged words and the man took off. But then the man doubled back.
“He started shooting. And he (her son) got hit,” Dillon said. “He didn’t even realize he got hit. He was hit in the arm and grazed in the head and a couple of other places. I don’t know. I got to get to the hospital.”
Seattle police said the altercation started just after 3 p.m. at 37th Avenue South and South Genessee. After Hudson, 23, was shot, his mother says, the shooter went across Rainier Avenue South and shot a 22-year-old woman.
She was outside a different beauty salon.
Despite what happened here, Dillon says she is counting her blessings.
Seattle police have given a vague description of the shooter. They say he was seen fleeing in a black sedan full of other males.
But Dillon says her son got a good look at him. So he should be able to identify him when he is taken into custody.
