A man taking his dog for a run was the latest shooting victim in Federal Way.
Federal Way Police Chief Andy Hwang said the fourth shooting in the city in two days has alarmed the police department and community.
“We recommend residents take extra safety precautions until the perpetrators are caught,” Hwang said. That includes not going outside on foot late at night, and avoiding secluded areas.
The latest shooting occurred just after 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of Southwest 356th Street.
Police found a 30-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
“These shootings have definitely brought us to the forefront and the community leaders have been meeting today and they’re putting together a plan of action and I’m confident by Tuesday, the plan of action will be publicized at our council meeting. Just a formalized plan to try to address the gun violence in Federal Way,” Federal Way police spokesperson Cathy Schrock told KIRO 7.
The latest shooting follows three that occurred within 24 hours of each other, beginning with a fatal shooting early Monday morning.
