Weekend construction to slow Seattle area traffic

Seattle area drivers will run into plenty of backups over the weekend as crews continue construction projects on I-5 and I-405.

From the Washington State Department of Transportation:
Crews will close up to two left lanes of southbound I-5 from Northeast Ravenna Boulevard to Boylston Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday for panel replacement work.
Crews will close the Northeast Ravenna Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-5 from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday for panel replacement work. This work is weather dependent.
Crews will close up to three lanes of northbound I-5 between South Albro Place and South Spokane Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Saturday for continued wheel rut repairs.
Crews will close the Swift Avenue South on-ramp to northbound I-5 from 10 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Saturday for construction work. Traffic will be detoured to the South Michigan Street on-ramp. Work is weather dependent.
Crews will close up to three lanes of northbound I-5 between South Albro Place and South Spokane Street from 11:59 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday for expansion joint work. Work is weather dependent.
On the eastside, crews will close the eastbound and westbound SR 522 on-ramps to southbound I-405 from 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.
Crews will close the Northeast 160th Street on-ramp to southbound I-405 from 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.
Crews will close the southbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 160th Street from 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.
Crews will close up to two lanes of southbound I-405 between Northeast 195th and SR 522 from 8 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.
Crews will close up to three lanes of southbound I-405 between SR 522 and Northeast 128th Street from 8 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.
