A popular animated series is getting the live-on-stage treatment when it comes to Seattle for two shows at the Neptune Theatre.
“Bob’s Burgers” is an animated show on Fox about a family’s burger restaurant. It’s also about the antics the quirky characters get themselves into.
“We’re all comics, so we’re going to do our schtick (on stage),” the voice of Linda explained to Jason Rantz on the Andrew Walsh Show.
Linda is inspired by voice actor John Robert’s real life Brooklyn mother. In fact, sometimes he steals her lines for the show.
Roberts said that he and the other voice actors, Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal, Eugene Mirman and Dan Mintz have the freedom to improvise a little.
“Like when she said she wanted me to throw her ashes in Tom Selleck’s face when she died.”
On stage, Roberts said he’ll be decked out in a wig, to help transform his physical appearance to Linda. But there might be some games and prizes too.
STG Presents Bob’s Burgers Live at the Neptune on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 and Thursday, May 9, 2013.
