Seahawks' Browner, Sherman facing suspensions

ESPN's Adam Schefter joins "Brock and Salk" to discuss the four-game suspensions that Seahawks cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner are facing for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

The Seahawks may have temporarily lost two of their best defenders after losing in disappointing fashion to the Dolphins Sunday.

Cornerbacks Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman are facing four-game suspensions for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

According to Schefter, Browner and Sherman are insisting innocence and appealing their suspensions, and those appeals could he heard as early as this week.

Schefter broke the news on Twitter hours after Seattle lost 24-21 to Miami on a last-second field goal. Sherman did not mention the suspension during a postgame interview with Jen Mueller, nor was he asked about it.

Browner and Sherman have built reputations as two of the NFL's better cornerbacks. Browner played in the Pro Bowl last season as an alternate. Sherman has arguably played at a Pro Bowl level this season.

The report of their suspensions comes while rookie safety Winston Guy is serving a four-game ban, also for violating the league's PED policy. Walter Thurmond would likely start at one cornerback spot if the suspensions to Browner and Sherman are upheld, though Thurmond has not been active for a game since returning from the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Even with our 2 top corners in the game we aren't very good on the road. Now with them out I would be willing to bet were going to finish this year closer to 7-9 then we had hoped. Pete Carrol had a very good outlook on this season at one point, that is rapidly turning into a season more disappointing then last year.

Adderall calms down and increases the attention span of ADHD patients. The NFL is suspending them for having ADHD? ... That's a joke

Sure it can help people with ADHD, but it's still an ampetamine and can be used as a stimulant. It could certainly help athletes. Anyways, from what I hear some legal stuff also tests in a similar fashion so we have to wait and see what happens in the appeal.

Let me get this right. The NFL has suspended many players for adderral usage over the last several years. Every player and team knows it is on the banned list. Browner and Sherman (and God knows who else) still use adderral. They get caught. They think they are innocent after knowingly breaking the rules. Carrol and Schneider drafted these "high character" guys. Oh wait, they don't care if the guys they draft are high character guys, that's right. So when do Carrol and Schneider get held responsible for drafting "low character" guys. Then we fans wonder why we continually have a penalty problem that causes us to lose games.

I guess the 2012 football Season is all but over and even if Hawks somehow makes it to the playoffs with 9-7 record, they need to go on the Road and WIN, the only thing they are consistent this season is to lose on the road to some of the mediocre teams in the NFL, so better take losing record and draft higher position for some good quality DBs/DEs in the draft. Except Earl Thomas all of our TOP round picks i nthe last 2-3 years are BUST. Where is pass rush Bruce Irvine on the road???? He just seems to be nowhere on the field. Sad day in Seattle Sports today, after losing we are hearing about 3 DBs being suspended in a single week...that can not be a accident...this is ridiculous and Paul Allen should hold accountable the people who are responsible for this off field PED debacle. I can not support this team if it is proved the players tool banned PED....period. No support for cheaters.

Is Ritalin outlawed? Is Red Bull? For most people, Adderall is no harder than either of these two. If they were snorting it, however, well...that would cross the line between "attention enhancement" and "partying."
