With Browner suspended, Thurmond gets his shot
By Brady Henderson
One week after making his 2012 debut, Walter Thurmond is moving into a starting role now that fellow Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner will begin his four-game suspension.
Sunday's game against the Cardinals will be Thurmond's first start since suffering a broken leg last season, an injury that kept him on the Physically Unable to Perform list until last month.
"I've thought all along that we're very fortunate to have Walter with some background that started for us in the past," coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday. "He's an excellent athlete. He played very well this past week."
In the video below, Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby discuss Thurmond's opportunity.
