Sherman's win huge for playoff-bound Seahawks

The Seahawks have gone 3-0 and allowed a total of 30 points while cornerback Brandon Browner has served three games of his four-game suspension.

But as well as they've fared in Browner's absence, they likely would have had a harder time in the playoffs without their other starting cornerback, Richard Sherman, who was facing a four-game suspension of his own.

That won't be a problem now that Sherman has won his appeal, a surprising development that came Thursday. In the video below, Mike Salk discusses the impact that Sherman's availability will have on the Seahawks' defense.

Really, barring injury, is there any team that can match-up with the Hawks right now?! They didn't just win these recent games. They dominated. And they did it against the NFC's top ranked defense last week. This team is dialed-in and showing no signs of letting-up.

... in the future for any other drug violation cases. You'd think the league would accept ANYTHING resembling a process but this proves you better have something legally workable and conclusive. That said, most players would take the hint that they won't be as fortunate as Sherman if it comes up again. The process would work better.....maybe.

There are distince procedures how to collect a sample. If he had a leaking cup, a second sealed cup should have been provided to him. To hand over an unsealed cup and put it around his sample is ludicrous. I don't know that this case will play out any way other than reminding the UA folks to know their job and carry out their task step by step and without compromising the sample. Because at the end of it, nobody truly know what he did or did not use.

2013 is a great year for a big party! It really seems that the team is focused and taking it one step at a time. It really seems to be working for them right now. Nice to see a team with so many valuable players, rather than just having 1 or 2 shining stars.

As a Seahawk fan, I'm glad he won. As a citizen, it smells. Sure, he won the appeal, but that only means the NFL didn't follow procedure, not that he is innocent. Sherman's participation taints the game somewhat.

You're making the assumption that he was guilty and saying people should not be assuming he is innocent. Neither can be assumed. Nobody but Sherman will ever know because the tester botched up their job. So, why should people assume that he was using it when other folks on the team have used it (legally and illegally) and his UA sample was around unsealed cups? It's just as likely that he's truthful and wasn't using as it is that he was using and got by on a technicality. Either way, don't let it taint your game. Enjoy the team as a whole and the success they're having.

Lesson to all worried cup fillers; Poke a hole in the cup, then freak out about the spilling pee and make a big distracting fuss of your own making and perhaps the tester will get so flustered they make a mistake to save you from yourself! Not saying Sherman did such a thing, but he has now shown the rest of the world a new trick.

"let's not all start sucking each other's schlongs quite yet." sure the seahawks are dominant at c. link field, but they are going to have to play some very tough road games to get very far in the playoffs. don't get me wrong, i want to see them win a superbowl as much as the next guy, but they have lost to lots of mediocre teams on the road, and only been able to beat one good team...the bears.

....be relieved (sorry pun) that they admitted there was a screw-up. That ups their sense of institutional integrity (as if) and makes up for heavy-handedness on the bounty issue. Nobody's banned for life here in a UA situation, and that's all good. By admitting there was sloppiness, all is win/win. On To January!!
