Mark Schlereth, an ESPN analyst and former NFL guard, joins "Brock and Salk" to discuss the job Tom Cable has done with the Seahawks' offensive line.

Former NFL guard Mark Schlereth made two Pro Bowls and won three Super Bowls during a 12-year career with the Redskins and Broncos.

He knows a good offensive line when he sees one, and he sees one with the Seahawks.

Schlereth, now an analyst for ESPN, raved about line coach Tom Cable's unit when he joined "Brock and Salk" on Friday. Schlereth said he recently texted Cable, his former teammate at the University of Idaho, and said, "if there's an offensive line that is playing better together as a group in the last however many weeks, I haven't seen them on tape."

Schlereth singled out left tackle Russell Okung and center Max Unger. Both were named starters for the NFC Pro Bowl team. Unger made John Clayton's All-Pro team.

"But I think that whole offensive line as a unit is playing great," Schlereth added. "They're nasty, they get after it, I just think they're playing greay up front."

We discussed on Thursday the improvement Seattle's offensive line has made since last season. These numbers help tell the story: Marshawn Lynch is the league's second-leading rusher and is just 10 yards shy of 1,500 with a game remaining. Seattle has allowed just 27 sacks, down from 50 a season ago.

What we didn't mention was the impact Cable has had.

"Awesome coach," Unger told "The Huddle" on Thursday. "... He gets us prepared to play games to a pretty detailed level. That can't be overstated. The guy is on it. He has our lesson plan made out, all the film cut-ups for us, points of emphasis. He really has us ready to play the games."

I hope the organization give him a nice healthy raise. We want to keep him happy for a long time. He seems to find the right guys and knows how to coach them. Worth his weigth in gold.

I have been a fan of Tom Cable for years now. I remember how happy I was when I heard he was coming to Seattle. This organization has really made some great choices along the way and this is just another example of one of them.

I've commented many times throughout the season regarding my hopes of being able to retain Tom Cable for an extended period of time. I hope they treat him with respect when it comes time to re-negotiate his salary. He is integral to our dominance on the field of play.
