Seahawks lose defensive line coach Todd Wash
Seahawks defensive line coach Todd Wash is indeed following Gus Bradley to Jacksonville.
Wash will take the same job with the Jaguars, the team announced Monday. The move seemed likely when the Jaguars named Bradley, the former Seahawks defensive coordinator, their new head coach earlier this month.
Bradley and Wash are close friends. Their relationship is presumably among the reasons Wash would make a lateral move and leave the Seahawks to join a team much further away from contention.
Wash became the Seahawks' defensive line coach when Dan Quinn left for the University of Florida following the 2010 season.
Wash and Bradley, college teammates at North Dakota State, coached together at their alma mater and in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers before they were reunited in Seattle.
They won't be the only former Seahawks assistants on the Jaguars' coaching staff. Jedd Fisch, Jacksonville's offensive coordinator, was the Seahawks' quarterbacks coach in 2010. Jacksonville has also hired Luke Butkus as an assistant offensive line coach. He had a similar role in Seattle from 2010-'11.
