Seahawks' Leroy Hill arrested for alleged assault

Leroy Hill is in trouble with the law again.

The Seahawks linebacker was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and keeping her inside his home against her will. Issaquah Police arrested Hill, 30, on investigation of third-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment.

Hill's 26-year-old girlfriend told police she had been "punched and restrained from leaving the residence several times throughout a three-hour period" on Tuesday, Issaquah Police Cmdr. Scott Behrbaum told KIRO Radio reporter Tim Haeck on Wednesday.

The woman was finally able to escape the house while Hill was in the bathroom, police said.

"When we contacted her there was some definite scratches and bruises that were immediately obvious to the responding officers," Behrbaum said.

According to the police department's press release, the woman was treated at Swedish Hospital in Issaquah and released.

Hill was cooperative when speaking to officers, Behrbaum said. He was taken to the Issaquah City Jail Tuesday. According to King County Jail records, he was booked into the Seattle correctional facility Wednesday.

Hill's latest arrest is his fourth in four years and his second for alleged domestic violence.

He was arrested in April of 2010 on a misdemeanor count of fourth-degree assault/domestic violence stemming from an incident with his live-in girlfriend at his Issaquah home. He was not convicted but was fined two game checks by the NFL.

Hill was charged with marijuana possession after police in suburban Atlanta found him asleep at the wheel in January of 2009. That arrest led to 12 months of probation and a one-game suspension by the NFL.

Last February, Hill was arrested for marijuana possession in Atlanta, but charges were later dismissed when he passed a drug test.

Hill, a third-round pick in 2005, has been with the Seahawks longer than any player but cornerback Marcus Trufant. Last season, Hill recorded 47 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He made 12 starts, splitting time later in the season at weakside linebacker with Malcolm Smith.

Hill is scheduled to be a free agent after playing last season on a one-year deal.

Just Stupid !!! Strike 3 Dude your Done... you and Jeremy Stevens can go hang out together and Drink and get DUI's and Beat up Women...Very Disapointing!!.. Just Pure Stupidty...NFL Career over..and Grey bar Hotel new residence...I was hoping he was done with this crap but I guess not...Years from now your relatives will look at your career accomplishments and just say "Stupid is as Stupid Does"...

I tend to agree with Inspector12. We have a really great team right now, with great community involvement and representation for our city. This kind of behavior does not reflect well on us. Quite honestly, we are fortunate enough to have players that can easily fill his position and won't be getting into repeated trouble with the law. Some never learn.

If us refers to you ,I or the City of Seattle your wrong if us mean the Sea Hawks your 100% accurate,by the way if as you say we have players that can fit this guys ex job then why was he on the roster after several arrests?

Actually, it does reflect bad on the City of Seattle "us" because all the haters continue to point out every downfall of the athletes in said city. So, why continue to give chances to a person that continues to not learn from their mistakes. And can we do without him? Yes, we can. Why was he on the roster? Because he made the team. Does that make him irreplaceable? Nope. And I don't even think he's one of the tougher players to replace.

Would you feel ill will against a city that had a athlete or anyone else for that matter who was a thug?That would be generalizing any people who generalize are simply idiots so who cares what they think?As far as your answer about him making the team go's well my question is with his past record of poor conduct why was he given a chance?Especially according to you since we had others on the current roster who could have filled his position.My thought are that we did not have anyone with Hills ability and rather then pick a weaker player SeaHawk coaches said to heck with the character issue.Which says LOTs about them

Pete and John for God Sake please remove this cancer from the team. We thought he will be good, but his repeated arrests for the "assault on Women" is very disturbing and bad for the image of Seahawks, we dont need such characters in our Team.

This will kill him in the Free Agent market. I wouldn't touch him with an arrest and a third DV strike on him. Look at what happened to Chad Ochocinco Johnson. He got popped for DV and now nobody's touching him (and there were a lot of teams that could have used him).
