Time for Seahawks to start exploring extensions
By Brady Henderson
Center Max Unger and defensive end Chris Clemons each had a year remaining before free agency when the Seahawks gave them new contracts last summer.
The precedent those moves set invites speculation about which contracts – not just those of players who will be free agents in March – the team might look to extend this offseason.
Defensive tackle Alan Branch is scheduled to become a free agent. Left tackle Russell Okung, wide receiver Golden Tate and free safety Earl Thomas all have at least a year remaining on their current deals.
In the video below, Brock Huard and Mike Salk discuss where those Seahawks rank in terms of priority.
