Keep an eye on former Florida DB Matt Elam
The latest mock drafts from ESPN's Todd McShay and Mel Kiper have the Seahawks taking a defensive lineman with the 25th overall pick. Sam Montgomery, a defensive end from LSU, is McShay's choice. For Kiper, it's defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins from Ohio State.
Defensive line is an area in which the Seahawks will be looking to improve. Beefing up the pass rush is the team's stated offseason goal. Adding a run stuffer would help, too, especially if pending free agent Alan Branch isn't re-signed.
The secondary might rank right below defensive line in terms of need given the team's struggles in nickel situations last season. With that in mind, Brock Huard thinks former Florida defensive back Matt Elam is one player to watch throughout the pre-draft process. Huard shares some thoughts on Elam in the video below.
