Seahawks' plans murky at right guard with Sweezy out
RENTON – J.R. Sweezy is out for Sunday's game.
"We'll wait and see on game day, please," Carroll said.
Well, who are the candidates?
"The usual suspects," Carroll said.
Lemuel Jeanpierre is one option. Rookie Alvin Bailey is another, and then there's the possibility that instead of platooning James Carpenter and Paul McQuistan at left guard, Seattle decides to move McQuistan to right guard.
But Carroll wasn't even willing to say if Sweezy's absence would affect the rotation.
"You'll have to wait and find out," Carroll said.
Sweezy suffered the concussion in last week's game against the Giants, but it was only diagnosed days afterward.
Sweezy was the only member of the offensive line who had started all 14 regular-season games so far this season. He is one of three players the Seahawks declared out for the game along with receiver Percy Harvin and linebacker K.J. Wright.
Seattle will have cornerback Jeremy Lane (ankle) and running back Robert Turbin (groin) available for the game. Both missed practice Thursday, but were back on the field Friday.
Cornerback Richard Sherman did not practice Friday, but that was just to give him a day off.
