See the Super Bowl experience through Tate's eyes
By Brady Henderson
Ever wonder what the Super Bowl experience looks like from the perspective of a player who went through it?
Seahawks receiver Golden Tate says he filmed his Super Bowl experience for fans who couldn't be there. (AP)
Wide receiver Golden Tate documented the entire week – from the Seahawks' departure to their postgame celebration – with the help of some fancy video-recording equipment. The footage has been edited down to a 7-minute video that is now posted on the team's website.
Tate was seen throughout the week leading up to the game and afterward wearing either a Google Glass device over his eyes or a GoPro camera attached to the bill of his cap, sometimes both.
He said he wanted to capture his experience for Seahawks fans.
"Really, I thought it would be a great idea to try to film my experience through my eyes, literally through my eyes, for the 12's," he said during Media Day. "They've supported us all year and we appreciate it so much. I figured this would be a small way for me to give back and for the people that aren't able to make it out, they can see this. I'm looking forward to editing it out and moving forward with it."
The video takes viewers just about everywhere Tate went during Super Bowl week: the Seahawks' plane, locker room, practice field, cafeteria, meeting rooms, media sessions, a New York Knicks game and, of course, Super Bowl XLVIII.
One clip shows Tate's point of view as he catches passes and fields punts during practice. Another shows Tate and running back Marshawn Lynch during a humorous exchange (aren't they all?) that involved a pack of "Seattle Mix" Skittles.
