Bling-bling: Seahawks get their Super Bowl rings

By Brady Henderson

After a victory parade and a trip to the White House, the Seahawks have another token of their Super Bowl XLVIII championship – a very shiny and expensive one.

The team received its Super Bowl rings during a private ceremony Thursday night. They were made by Tiffany & Co. with input from owner Paul Allen, general manager John Schneider, coach Pete Carroll, president Peter McLoughlin and other team executives on the design.

The front of the white gold ring is encrusted with diamonds – lots of them – and features a Seahawks logo, the Vince Lombardi trophy in the background and a border reading "WORLD" on the top and "CHAMPIONS" on the bottom with six diamonds on either side.

One side of the ring shows a southward view inside CenturyLink Field with Mt. Rainier in the background, the player's last name and number and the team's final record of 16-3. The other side shows Seattle's skyline with a Super Bowl XLVIII logo and the NFL shield.

The band of the ring features the score of Seattle's Super Bowl XLVIII win over Denver – 48-3 – along with two of the team's sayings: "LEAVE NO DOUBT 24/7" and "WHAT'S NEXT?"

Among the tweets from Seahawks players during and after the ceremony Thursday night was this one from left tackle Russell Okung: "My hand is heavy."

Tiffany & Co. will have one of the rings on display at its downtown Seattle store this weekend. The team's website has additional photos of the ring.
