If you thought Marshawn Lynch was generous for his McDonalds charity, you’ll love what Ricardo Lockette did the day he was released from the hospital.
Lockette, who suffered a major neck injury earlier this month, told Sports Illustrated that he made a special stop to McDonalds on the day he was released from the hospital. Lockette said he noticed dozens of homeless people gathered outside in Dallas as he was driven from the hospital, and he asked his driver to stop. He said he went into the restaurant and purchased 100 cheeseburgers and then handed them out to the people on the street, according to Sports Illustrated.
Days before, Lockette wondered if he would ever walk again, and Sports Illustrated reported that the 29-year-old said the act “felt better than any touchdown I’ve ever scored.”
“The feeling was pure joy,” he said.
Lockette spent 11 days in Dallas after suffering ligament and disc damage that required neck surgery. He returned Sunday to CenturyLink and raised the 12th Man flag and also said that he expects to return to the field.
