What's next for the Seahawks and Mike Williams?
John Clayton said it wasn't a matter of "if" but "when" the Seahawks were going to release wide receiver Mike Williams.
That decision has been made, and with it comes some questions that Clayton tried to answer when he joined "Bob and Groz" on Friday, minutes after the Seahawks announced the move.
A few of Clayton's thoughts:
• The addition of Kellen Winslow made Williams expendable, especially since he wasn't fully recovered from surgery on his broken leg.
• Williams should find another job at some point during training camp, but most likely not with one of his former teams (Detroit, Oakland or Tennessee).
• The Seahawks will give second-year receivers Kris Durham and Ricardo Lockette an opportunity to replace Williams as opposed to bringing in a free agent off the streets.
In the video below, Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby weigh in on the Seahawks' decision to release Williams, reflect on his career in Seattle and discuss what the team will do without him.
