Terrell Owens, Pete Carroll team up to prank Seahawks
Those aware of Terrell Owens' reputation for diva-like behavior might have expected the new Seahawks receiver to throw a fit upon learning the jersey No. 81 he's worn his entire career wasn't available.

In the video, posted Thursday to Carroll's "Win Forever" website, Owens stands in front of his teammates during a meeting claiming he was misled about the availability of No. 81, which belongs to receiver Golden Tate. Owens even suggests that his stellar career is the reason Tate is wearing the number in the first place.
It gets even better.
Owens, still complaining despite Carroll's orders to return to his seat, then says Tate tried to charge him $81,000 for the number – an exorbitant amount in any case, especially for someone who just signed a contract that will pay him the minimum salary.
Safety Earl Thomas was among those who were fooled.
"I was like, man, is he starting already? I'd heard rumors about him. I was like, man, this guy is a different type of guy if he's doing this. They got me good, though," Thomas told "Bob and Groz" on Friday.
"He's a great actor, T.O. Academy Award winner. He's a great actor. Him and Coach Carroll, they did a great job, they fooled everybody."
This was one of the funnier pranks from Carroll, who used such levity before to combat the monotony of training camp. You might remember last August when defensive end Raheem Brock and his unpaid bar tap were the center of the joke.
In this case, Owens did, in fact, ask Tate for his jersey number. After some contemplation, Tate picked sentiment over whatever payment Owens had offered him, if any.
Tate's explanation was pretty funny, too, poking fun at some of his own on- and off-field mishaps.
"Eighty-one and I have been through a lot," he told "Bob and Groz" earlier this week. "We've been through being inactive together, we've been through doughnut shops and NASCAR and the rest. So I'm going to be loyal to 81."
