Dog bars, restaurants and meetups hopping in Seattle

Seattle is a dog crazy town and a man that wanted to harness all that love, the creator of, joined KIRO Radio’s It’s Raining Cats and Dogs show to talk about all this town has to offer.

Robert Pregulman tells IRCAD host Shawn Stewart that he created Seattle Dog Spot so there would be an online hub of sorts to find local information on dog stories, services, and interests.

“When we first moved here and got dogs, we were trying to find information and it was spread out all over the place on different sites and a lot of sites didn’t have local information. We wanted to create a website where Seattleites could go to get very localized information.”

In addition to dog-friendly places, dog products, services and a dog blog, Stewart was also intrigued by the listed dog meetups.

Pregulman explains they have a number of dog meetup groups that meet regularly around the Seattle area.

“There’s a pups and pints group that meets at dog friendly bars to drink every so often,” says Pregulman. “There are dog runners’ groups. My favorite is the Adventure Wiener Club.”

The woman that created the wiener/dachshund club is a big proponent of taking small dogs on hikes, and the group challenges others to take their dachshunds or other small breeds on fun adventures.

Seattle Dog Spot’s latest project, Pregulman says, is compiling all the dog-friendly bars and restaurants. He says there are hundreds they’re hoping to add to the list.
