Washington State University has announced it’ll name a school building in honor of alumna Kathi Goertzen.
The Board of Regents passed a resolution Friday to name a building that’s part of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication in honor of the late KOMO TV news anchor.
“Kathi epitomized the Murrow legacy of honesty, ethics, and fairness. And beyond that, she set such a bar for us as she battled those terrible tumors that eventually took her life,” said Lawrence Pintak, founding dean of The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at WSU.
Goertzen passed away in August after a long battle with reoccurring brain tumors. She was 54-years old.
