With the help of a murder suspect, authorities in Snohomish County believe they have located the bodies of Patrick Shunn and Monique Patenaude, the Arlington couple that went missing in April.

“It does appear we have found their bodies,” said Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. “They have not been positively identified by the medical examiner yet. Given the evidence and information, we believe it is Patrick and Monique.”

Ireton said that detectives have been searching around the vicinity where the bodies were located ever since their abandoned vehicles were found nearby in the same area.

“It wasn’t until we had specific information from Tony Reed — that really helped detectives pinpoint the exact location of the bodies,” she said.

Tony is one of two brothers suspected of murdering the couple. He was recently extradited from California to Snohomish County. His brother, John, remains on the loose.

Earlier Tuesday, Tony Reed pleaded not guilty to murder charges in Snohomish County. He turned himself in to authorities in San Diego last week.

KIRO 7 reports that Reed was helping the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office locate the bodies.  Reed reportedly did not go into the field with investigators.

The judge has allowed Reed to speak to two potential witnesses, though he is not allowed to talk about the case. One witness is his father.
