Seattle police say a driver hit a man who was waiting at a bus stop twice before taking off from the scene.
“For whatever reason [the driver] drove up onto the curb and struck the victim who was a 40-year-old man,” Seattle Police Detective Mark Jamieson. “The suspect then continued on and his vehicle struck two parked cars […] The suspect then backed up and struck the victim a second time.”
At that time, the suspect’s vehicle reportedly got stuck on the curb and the suspect got out and tried to run away.
Jamieson says the victim’s friend tried to stop him.
“The victim’s friend tried to physically detain the suspect, however the suspect was able to break free and took off running,” says Jamieson.
Police say the victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries but is expected to survive.
Authorities are still searching for the driver involved in the accident that happened at Fremont Ave N. and N. 105th St around 11:30 Sunday night.
The driver is described as Hispanic male around 5’4.” He was last seen wearing a black jacket and tan pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Department.
