The most expensive Starbucks drink seems like an unappetizing, bad idea

Even in over-caffeinated Seattle this is a little over the top: An Enumclaw man celebrated his 27th birthday by ordering what could be the most expensive Starbucks drink ever.

Beau Chevassus told KING 5 it contained 48 shots of espresso, soy, several bananas, mango and protein powder among other things.

He planned this in advance so he brought his own giant coffee cup that he found at Goodwill. It held 52 ounces.

The total for his custom beverage was $47.30 but because he ordered it on his birthday, Starbucks gave it to him for free.

While Beau certainly got a treat for his birthday, it’s hard to imagine that he actually drank it. Would any chef recommend combining those ingredients for a caffeinated treat?

In the end, Beau’s birthday treat seems kind of like a waste.

If you get one of those Starbucks coupons for a free birthday beverage, you should treat yourself – to something you’d actually enjoy.
