The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a gunman who fired at least one shot from a silver car on Puyallup’s South Hill, then crashed into a school bus before fleeing.
Detective Ed Troyer says the silver car was involved in a shooting at 136th and Median E. in South Hill, then drove seven blocks on 136th St. E. to 94th Ave. E., where it struck the bumper of a school bus carrying several students. Troyer says no shots were fired at or near the school bus, no students were injured, and no students saw the shooting.
Troyer says early reports of one bullet striking the school bus were incorrect and the result of a miscommunication between agencies at the scene.
