What are we looking for when we listen, watch, or read about the debate happening between incumbent Mayor Mike McGinn and candidate Sen. Ed Murray on Wednesday night?
Former Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels says the question candidates dread most is about what they envision for the future of Seattle and how the can achieve it.
KIRO Radio’s Dave Ross wondered if answers from a candidate for a question like that would be genuine visions or just sham responses to get them through the debate.
“It could well be BS, but I think the voters are smart enough to sort their way through that,” said Nickels.
“People want to know, especially at the local level, what it is that you envision for their lives. How you are going to make life better for them and their children. And how do you have the gall to claim that you are the person to be able to make that happen.”
Dave Ross will be at the debate asking questions. You can listen to the debate LIVE on 97.3 KIRO FM or online at KIRORadio.com at 7 p.m.
