More scattered snow forecast for Western Washignton

Jan 9, 2013, 5:09 PM | Updated: 5:21 pm

Another cold front is moving into Western Washington, bringing with it the chance for more snow showers.

The cold air is sticking around Western Washington Wednesday night and bringing with it the chance for more scattered snow showers.

KING 5 Meteorologist Jeff Renner says we could see some flakes on the inland hills above 300 feet, with the best chance of accumulations in Western Skagit and Whatcom counties.

Wet snow was reported as far south as Shoreline Wednesday afternoon, while scattered snow fell early in the morning in various parts of the area but didn’t stick.

KIRO listeners reported snow sightings from Bonney Lake and Renton to Everett via the KIRO Radio app.

While snow made a brief appearance in the lowlands, it was raining in the passes.

Heavy rains were as much a part of the weather picture the last 48 hours, with two inches falling in Olympia and over an inch at Sea-Tac airport.

Despite the chance of snow showers into Thursday morning, Renner says they shouldn’t have an impact on the morning commute.
