After recent rain and snow storms, forecasters say Washington will end the year with drier weather.
About the only rain Friday is forecast on the coast.
The National Weather Service expects only scattered rain showers in most of the state or light snow in northeast Washington on Saturday. Sunday should be a dry day with sun at times.
Cloudy skies return Monday with a chance of showers.
KING 5 Meteorologist Rich Marriott says Western Washington will likely welcome in 2013 with morning clouds and fog with patchy freezing fog.
New Year’s Day afternoon will be partly sunny according to Marriott’s outlook.
The dry weather won’t last for long. Rain is expected to return by Wednesday or Thursday.
