Wife of lawyer accused of massage parlor rapes seeking separation

Nov 21, 2012, 6:58 AM | Updated: 7:21 am

Jennifer Grant might have stood by her man in court, but behind the scenes the wife of the Seattle lawyer accused of being a serial rapist was filing for a separation in Snohomish County.

She is asking for child support and advice on dividing the couple’s assets, The Seattle Times reports.

Danford Grant, 47, is charged with seven felonies for attacks on five women. All the women are massage parlor workers who worked around the Seattle-area. Grant was arrested Sept. 24 near a Greenwood massage clinic, where he allegedly raped a massage therapist at knife point.

He’s under electronic monitoring at home after posting $1 million bail. He is only allowed to leave his house for meetings with his lawyers, doctor and therapist.

The separation filing shouldn’t impact his release, unless he’s no longer living in his home.

Both Grant and his wife agree in the separation petition that their split began on September 26th, the day after he was booked into jail.
