Black Friday is a week away and some shoppers couldn’t be more excited.

The same is true for Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos, who tells NBC’s Today Show they’re trying to put people back to work this holiday season.

“At Amazon, we’re getting ready to hire 50,000 seasonal people to help us with the peak holiday selling season. It think it’s going to be a record selling season for us. Knock on wood.”

Bezos says he’s not concerned about other companies, such as Walmart, which is opening on Thanksgiving and offering same day shipping for customers.

“We’ve always been in a hyper competitive industry. E-commerce even from its ever beginning has always been hyper competitive. That’s good for customers and it’s even good for companies that embrace that dynamic,” Bezos said.
