Two Rallies, Two World Views

Media bias emerged in particularly glaring terms in coverage of two Washington rallies. On January 25th, more than 500,000 people joined the "March for Life" to observe the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The next day, planners of the "Million Mom March Against Guns" sought an even bigger turnout, but drew only 6,000 participants with signs like "Repeal the 2nd Amendment."

Amazingly, media treated the two events as comparably significant or, in the case of theNew York Times, emphasized the anti-gun event. Most reporters, however, missed the moment when an organizer listed mass shootings and declared "they all began with a gun." In other words, the left sees an inanimate object, not human agency, as the source of evil, while their unwavering support for abortion treats any unborn child as just another inanimate object.

    Yawn.
There are really only two options here. If you believe that a woman is the best person to decide her own medical decisions when it comes to her body then you are Pro Choice, if you believe the government should monitor every single pregnancy to ensure that the outcome is the government's chosen outcome then you are a fascist (aka Pro Life). Small government Republicans my butt.

I'm amazed how easily the argument gets twisted from concern over snuffing a human life for little more than convenience to wanting control of a woman's medical decisions. And then take it a step further by claiming that those that simply want to enforce the most basic maxim of any government - thou shalt not kill - and deem them fascist is truly astounding.

    Europe just shakes it head..........
Evangelical americans have mutated into a strange mix of theocracy and gun culture composite. Israel, Canada and the 27 Nations of the EU just look at the US and shake their heads at how susceptible a minority of US Citizens are to right wing tactics to return to 1950's ideology -discrimination against: women's reproductive rights, LGBT people and bans on interracial relationships.

Isn't Europe shaking their head at us akin to the pasty D&D nerd that stalks underage girl shaking his head at the star quarterback?

Mostly it is Left wing Parrots who want to murder their babies.
It is a act that closely resembles the Holocaust. This Holocaust cannot be blamed on the Nazi's! All that can be said beyond that is that another Left wing Parrot will not be able to become a Useful idiot voter. Maybe the Left wing Parrots will become extinct at their own hands.

..why don't you ask the people of Israel which has abortion funded by their socialized government health care plan. Yes, Lord Ha Ha your tax money that goes to Israel is helping them fund abortions of Jews.

I'm sure that doesn't matter to Ha ha, as long as it's
liberal Jews that is. I used to think that the pro life/pro choice issue was something conservatives at their core cared about and were conflicted so I respected that. But hearing this yahoo and the other one say they don't care about abortion as long as it's liberals that are getting aborted (so stoopid) makes me realize there is nothing at their core except hate, misery and a lack of compassion towards their fellow men.

It was Jan 25th. Other than this posting I didn't see that MyNW covered it...if they did it didn't hit front page news. If you Google it the top returns are a catholic website, the march for life website, an NPR story, Washington Post, the Wikpedia, but that is because it's an annual event, not a specific story on this particular event...you won't find CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS (aka the treason media)...Fox is on the 2nd page and you have a bunch of blogs and pro-life websites.

I didn't know if you caught the irony of an LDS owned news service (my northwest) not covering it -when you choose to call others "treason media".

The absolute best way to reduce the number of abortions is...
Universal healthcare so the woman can afford childbirth and healthcare for the child after it's born. The next best thing for reducing abortion is family wage jobs so poor families could afford child care for their child while they work and afford food, shelter and education for their offspring.

If you look at major crime statistics you will see
That crime started falling and has continued falling 20 years after Roe v Wade.

    Something to think about.

    Exactly Pat
Less unwanted children to grow up and become criminals. It's been proven statistically. The lower crime rate that we are now enjoying has nothing to do with law enforcement.
