'If Not Now, When?'

All factions agree that the mandated defense cuts of the scheduled "sequester" would dangerously damage our security, but the president's plan to avert disaster offers precisely the wrong approach. He wants more tax hikes to finance new spending—and wants to postpone scheduled budget trims until he gets his "grand bargain." But Congress only needs $85 billion in savings—just 2.3 percent of overall spending!—to avoid the automatic cuts in the sequester.

The necessary reductions amount to less than 1 percent of the Gross Domestic Product, so it's ridiculous to describe such reforms as unattainable. If Washington politicians can't come up with these relatively trivial cuts this month, they'll never make the long-term reforms necessary to avoid budgetary collapse. As the great sage Rabbi Hillel asked two thousand years ago: "If not now, when?"

Nancy Pelosi says we don't have a spending problem..Looking at my progressive to English dictionary that means we don't have high enough taxes.

    All factions agree?
Another sweeping generalization without any corroborating evidence. First, I didn't know we had a comprehensive list of said factions, and a poll was taken. And can you really say with a straight face that cuts in other parts of the budget are so small as to be trivial, but cuts in defense would dangerously damage our security?

    Disaster?
It has been suggested by some that the effects of the sequestration would be disastrous, but I don't know if all factions have agreed on that yet. The real disaster Washington fears would be that a politician's constituents might be affected, and he might get blamed for it.

    The factcheck.org article on Obamacare/Congress
    http://www.factcheck.org/2010/01/congress-exempt-from-health-bill/

This article illustrates how the right wing seduces their followers. Little lies relentlessly injected into the debate on a continual basis. As time goes by, the little lies become facts. These 'facts' are added to more 'facts' and we suddenly see the 'reality' of the right-wing. It's a reality built on lies.

Gullible people like Bill Law have no problem living in this lie-based world. After all, we have a 2-term black President. It's either living lies or doing yourself in. After all, how can we have a 'Monkey Boy' as President. He's not eve human. Right, Bill? Did you READ the ACA Bill? Obviously not. Had Hannity 'sumarize' it for you.

And to the ever brilliant AJ. I just did a search for 'Obamacare Fox News Congress Exempt.' Plenty of sources. You're just too lazy to look yourself. Lots of good Fox playbook stuff in that search though.

    1. The Democratic Party is the "Party of Civil Rights".

    2. Benghazi was caused by a video.

    3. Trayvon Martin was an innocent victim.

    4. GM paid back their bailout.

    5. Republicans in Congress are "obstructionists".

    6. Obama cares about the middle class.

    7. If you don't support Obama's policies, it's because you're a racist.

    Who needs Fox News..
...when I can log on every night and read the war of the words with all these posts....Better entertainment than listening to Hannity...and funnier. 5 minutes of reading on any topic and it pretty much sums up the pickle we're in. Two opposing view points that can not have middle ground. Gonna be a fun ride to the bottom. Keep your food stores up and your powder dry boyz.
