Democrats, Not GOP, Mostly Controlled Congress Under Obama

Instead of accepting responsibility for the nation's ills, Obama apologists regularly blame Republicans in Congress for blocking the president's recovery agenda. This contention ignores the fact that the GOP controlled only one half of Congress for one half of Obama's term. Democrats have run the Senate for his full term, and controlled the House of Representatives for half that term.

In other words, during Obama's time in office Democrats exerted 75 percent of Congressional control. He got approval for his stimulus package, Obamacare, Dodd-Frank banking regulation, and all his major initiatives. If he had really wanted to hike taxes on the rich, he easily could have done so in his first two years in office. When it comes to his failures as president, Obama has no one to blame but himself—and his own party

Nevermind the fact that the GOP has blatantly abused the filibuster.
I know, both parties do it. But the GOP broke all the records for filibustering once Obama took office.

What else would you expect from the party whose mission was to "make Obama a one term-president?"

Hey, Duke. Get off it about that one term gig.
All the way back. It was Thomas Jefferson's mission to make John Adams a one term president (and he did).

And I've never heard of any party coming up to an election saying 'the president is doing such a good job, we won't run against him'. ... And if Romney wins, the democrats will start immediately planning to make HIM a one term president.

    .

And, BTW, the GOP would have to go a long. long time to out do the democrat filibusters of the 1950s.

Warning Hayduke - folks like Medved don't take into account the absolute obstructionism that the GOP has practised since Obama was sworn in. It's simpler and easier to leave 'inconvenient truth' like that out of thier one sided blather. While it would be true to say that the dems have been the majority as stated, leaving the rest of it out is like claiming to own a hamburger because you have 1/2 of the bun and nothing else in your hands.

As soon as the 16T debt becomes something we cant just ignore while it grows ever larger, taxes
will go thru the roof. Hidden taxes especially, gas tax, permits, etc It is easy to keep taxes low, spend wildly IF THE FED GOV JUST PUSHES THE DEBT ON TO FUTURE GENERATIONS. It is not right and historians will write books about this time.

Where have you been? Debt is ALWAYS pushed forward to following generations and it should be.Do you believe that future generations should get the roads, bridges,Colleges, buildings,a modern military, and functioning government that previous people paid for with their tax dollars completely debt free? Let me ask you if you had a choice of where you were born and you would be born in 2013 would you pick, China,India,France,or the USA with all the debt? Face it even with the debt people born in this country have a HUGE advantage

What tax is that because tax rates have NOT changed under Obama except up with Obamacare, cigarette tax, etc. Since you do not work, you do not pay SS tax and that is the only tax that went down under Obama. It is plan to bankrupt SS sooner than later.

Thanks for that link. What bothers me about those donors is that we here constant charges about Union contributions to Obama meanwhile it seems 1 donor Sheldon Adelson has given more then $36,250,000 to the Conservatives this one person has given more then ALL THE UNIONS COMBINED have given to Obama. Adelson is a HUGE supporter of Israel and you can be assured that the money comes with alot of strings attached
