SEATTLE (AP) - Cervante Burrell scored 15 of his season-high 24 points in the first half to help Seattle defeat Arkansas State 75-69 on Saturday night.

Aaron Broussard, Louis Green and Sterling Carter scored 10 points each for Seattle (6-13). The Redhawks have won three of four after losing four straight and 10 of 11.

Malcoln Kirkland scored 14 points and Adam Sterrenberg 13 to lead Arkansas State (10-15), which has lost six of eight. Brandon Peterson added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Burrell, a senior guard who finished 9 of 13 from the field, was two points short of his career high, set last year against Washington. He tied his season high with six assists.

Burrell helped cement the lead when he made a backcourt steal, dribbled behind his back and scored on a layup to make it 69-60 with 3:12 remaining.

Carter, who was scoreless in the first half, scored 10 straight points, including two 3-pointers, to help the Redhawks to a 58-47 lead midway through the second half after Arkansas State used an 8-0 run to pull within four.

Burrell scored 15 points and had five assists to help Seattle to a 46-36 halftime lead. He hit all six of his shots from the field, including a 3-pointer just before the buzzer. He scored nine in the final four minutes of the half.

Peterson and Ed Townsel had eight points apiece in the first half. Townsel left the game with a shoulder injury in the first half and did not return after Eric Wallace fouled him on a drive to the basket.

The Red Wolves made finished 23 of 25 (92 percent) from the line.

Arkansas State beat Seattle 87-74 in Jonesboro, Ark., on Dec. 14.
