All lanes have reopened after a multi-vehicle crash blocked three lanes –two general purposed and one HOV lane — on southbound I-5 at the West Seattle Bridge (MP 164) for at least an hour Friday morning.
On top of that, the Washington State Department of Transportation reported a stalled car in the right lane at S. Spokane Street. WSDOT tweeted: “Once you get through SB 5 crash scene at WSB, merge left to avoid this stall blocking the right lane.”
WSDOT recommended taking SR 99 or I-405 as alternate routes. WSDOT tweeted: “Avoid area!” All lanes of the 1st Ave. S. Bridge were closed to commuters at 9:19 a.m. for boat traffic.
The backups on I-5 stretched to 85th Street and about two miles across the West Seattle Bridge.
