It is not yet known when he will be transferred to Washington state to face murder charges.
Reed is one of two brothers who went on the run after married couple Patrick Shunn, 45, and his wife Monique Patenaude, 46, were murdered in April. John was a neighbor to the couple and the Reed brothers were suspected of their murders.
They went on the run and were suspected to have fled to Mexico. Their parents have been charged with rendering aid to them. Tony eventually turned himself in to authorities at the California-Mexico border in May. He also helped local detectives locate the couple’s bodies in the area around their Oso home. It was determined then that the couple was shot with a firearm execution-style.
The brothers were both charged with murder while they were on the run, but after returning to Washington state, Tony’s charges were dropped. He has instead been charged with aiding his brother escape the law and helping John dispose of the bodies. Murder charges for John still stand.
