For supporters of Bernie Sanders, day one of the Democratic Convention was about getting past the denial.
At one point last night, Bernie supporter and comedian Sarah Silverman, standing next to senator and former comedian Al Franken, almost blew it.
“To the Bernie or Bust people, you’re being ridiculous,” she said.

The place erupted with a mixture of gleeful Hillary Clinton fans and outraged Bernie fans. Both groups had been chanting past each other all night.
But, ultimately, Senator Sanders got to give the speech he’d given to his supporters a few hours earlier – a speech which ended with the line his delegates least wanted to hear:
“Hillary Clinton will make an outstanding president and I am proud to stand with her tonight,” he said.
Cynthia, a young Bernie delegate from Ohio, is Muslim and Mexican. She is having trouble letting go.
“He’s not going to win, we all know that now,” she said. “But we’re not going down without a fight.”
She didn’t say Clinton would be more dangerous than Donald Trump.
“I’m not saying she would be, I’m just saying … we don’t know,” she said.
