How do voters in Western Washington feel about Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump?
KIRO 7 conducted a survey of more than 500 people in Western Washington. Of those, 67 percent of men and women supported Hillary Clinton and only 20 percent supported Trump.
The most recent polling from CBS shows the two in a dead heat nationally, both with 42 percent.
Broken down by gender, 15 percent of women support Trump and 76 percent of women support Hillary.
For men, 27 support Trump and 56 percent support Hillary. This is out of the total number of survey participants.
When we break it down by generation:
- Baby boomers are the most in support of Hillary with 84 percent saying yes to a Clinton presidency.
- They’re also the least in favor or Trump with only 16 percent saying they’d go with him. None of the boomers went with Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, or others.
We also asked Western Washington voters about who their ideal candidate would be, and how Hillary lines up with what they want.
Forty-nine percent of men and 48 percent of women we polled said their ideal candidate is moderate.
But 53 percent of men said Hillary is liberal and 42 percent of women said Hillary is liberal.
Breaking it down by generation, we asked who their ideal is and how they see Clinton within that.
Among millennials, 43 percent said their ideal candidate was liberal, but only 37 percent described her as liberal.
Among those in Generation X, 52 percent said their ideal candidate was moderate, and 50 percent of them said Clinton is liberal.
Baby boomers we polled wanted a moderate president as their ideal, but 59 percent of those boomers believed Hillary is liberal.
