He wasn’t masked and he didn’t have any sort of mobile as a getaway car, but he did throw a batarang at Seattle police officers Monday night.

Seattle police officers were called to the Capitol Hill area around 6:30 p.m., after a man threatened a bouncer with a homemade spear — a knife attached to a pole. He swung the spear at the bouncer at East Olive Way and East Denny Way. Officers located the man and pursued him through the area.

At one point, the man turned around and threw something at the police SUV. It turned out to be a throwing star in the shape of Batman’s insignia — aka a batarang.

Officers eventually took the man, 23, into custody. After apprehending the suspect, officers noticed the batarang stuck into the front of the police vehicle, an SUV. The man has been booked into the King County Jail for felony assault. Officers are asking that additional obstruction and weapons charges be added.
