How hard can it be for Hillary Clinton to outshine Donald Trump?

Tonight is the biggest speech of Hillary Clinton’s political life. But it shouldn’t be that tough. She’s been getting all sorts of helpful advice.
And the bar isn’t that high. All she has to do is be better than her running mate, Tim Kaine.

“You cannot believe one word that comes out of Donald Trump’s Mouth,” Kaine said Wednesday night.
And Vice President Joe Biden.
“The 21st Century is going to be the American Century,” Biden said.
And President Barack Obama.
“It’s been you who’ve fueled my dogged faith in our future, even when the odds were great, even when the road is long. Hope in the face of difficulty, hope in the face of uncertainty, the audacity of hope!
“America, you have vindicated that hope these past eight years.”
Clinton simply needs to give a speech which is assertive without being strident, where she is forceful without screaming. She needs to be clear without being robotic. Presidential, yet vulnerable. Funny, but not flip. Persuasive without being pedantic. Substantive yet brief. Serious but not boring.
She needs to speak a little Spanish but not too much and be tough but not too masculine. She has to be caring but not too feminine. Above all, she has to relax and be herself.
And if she does all that, mentions Bernie Sanders at least once, and promises never to send another email, she might have a chance against the guy who just invited the Russians to help him win.
Like I say – how hard can it be?
