Donald Trump won the beauty contest, can he win the debates?

Hillary Clinton was like a sponge Thursday night. She walked on stage, and just absorbed Bernie Sanders.
“I’ve heard you. Your cause is our cause,” she told Sanders.
She promised no more college debt, tougher treaties, jobs paying $15 an hour or more for everyone who wants to work, reforming prisons and policing. Plus, a path to citizenship for immigrants. It’s all there and more.

“If necessary, we will pass a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United,” she said.
She’s promising to take the big money — the kind of big money she herself collected — out of politics.
The question: is it enough to get the Bernie supporters to work for her, or will they just hi-BERN-ate. Get it? Because she’s nothing like Bernie. There are no fireworks when she speaks. And she knows it.
But I give her credit for standing up and owning who she is. To Chelsea, she’s hilarious. But in her day job, she’s a policy wonk.
“Because it’s not just a detail if it’s your kid — if it’s your family. It’s a big deal. And it should be a big deal to your president too,” she said.
And what I take that to mean is Mr. Trump, you win the beauty contest. Let’s see if you can win the debates.
