How will Wedge juggle his lineup?

Mike Carp is here and Miguel Olivo has been placed on the 15 day DL. He will see the team doctors and be evaluated further on Friday after the team returns from the road trip. I would expect him to miss more than 15 days.

Eric Wedge is going with two catchers and really didn't shed a lot of light on how he would juggle the lineup or use the DH spot that should be open more going forward. This is a topic I discussed with Brock and Salk earlier today on 710 ESPN.

Other questions addressed are how long I believe the Mariners can carry Chone Figgins and what his role will turn into if he doesn't pick things up with the bat soon, how Mike Carp will be worked into the lineup, whether or not I believe it would be better to go with three catchers in Olivo's absence and more about how Wedge handled the bunting situation with Michael Saunders Monday night. ...went 4/4 but had a PB,ah well. I'm still impressed even tho his plate work went for zero (LOB= 8 potential runs left out there). My guess is a split with the Rays is best case scenario this week, if there's a way to keep Matt Floyd out of the Rays lineup; guy's a M's killer any year, check his numbers.

Let's see...lost pop up between two so called "capable" ball players, a home run off our center fielder's mit, and picked off first base...typical of a totally inept "team."

Wedge's post game comments

He seemed a bit.....uhhh..... well.... sick and tired? Fatigued? PO?
Either way, he is losing his patience with this team.
AND IT SHOWS!
He called out both Figgins and Ryan for their combined "0-for-almost-everything" in the last week+.
Oh, and the error in the 4th. The one that MAY have led to 2 runs. He was not so kind to Liddi and Ackley.
He looks like he is so disheveled. Like a guy who has been rode wet and put up hard. Lacking energy and having NO enthusiasm!
Is he finally going to live up to his "commercial self"? Time will tell.
Just a word of caution to Wedge: Take a page out of B Valentine's recent book and learn from him. If you continually call out the team in public, you may lose them for good! I don't have a problem with putting a fire under a guy who is playing without effort. Call him out! But the guys who are working hard, but without success, may need some private "counseling" in your office.
If the guys are working hard and not being rewarded (hits, wins...[COMMENDATION from the Manager]) etc.) and you constantly berate them in the media, they will learn to tune you out. At that point you have lost them.
It is your job to take and absorb the heat from the media and the fans. Pick your battles, and pick them well. Showing defeat in your post game interviews does not help the team, especially when they are looking for ANYTHING positive to latch on to.......
