A crash that left one car on top of another on the 520 Bridge Wednesday morning snarled traffic and created what could be the worst commute of the summer.

The crash near the west end of the bridge blocked the left lanes of both directions of traffic for more than an hour. The commute from Redmond to Seattle was nearly an hour at the peak of the commute. The crash was cleared around 9:30 a.m.

Sullivan says this crash is a perfect example of how fragile the area’s infrastructure is.

“One well-placed accident can grind everything else to a halt,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan says that the crash likely cause the worst commute of the summer.
