Presidential race poll update

According to RealClear Politics, which averages all the most recent national polls, President Obama, in the past week, has very slightly increased his national lead from 3 percentage points to 3.7.

Perhaps a little more significantly, RealClearPolitics' electoral map breaks down this way (Remember, you need 270 electoral votes to win):

Obama's estimated total is put at 247. Romney is at 191. That leaves 100 electoral votes still up for grabs.

The only movement on that score this week was Wisconsin with its 10 electoral votes moved from toss-up to leans Obama.

Newsweek also has a new eye-catching Obama cover story. Remember the Hit The Road, Barack cover story blasting the President? Now there's a cover shot of President Obama with a headline - the Democrats' Reagan.

It's an article by columnist Andrew Sullivan, a Reagan supporter who also supports Barack Obama - calling them both transformational figures. He points out that Reagan, like Obama, had a difficult first term but became an icon for the age in his second term.

In a lot of ways, it's a puff-piece, imagining what a second term could mean. Most interestingly, the piece argues that just like Reagan rejuvenated the Democratic Party by forcing it into a more centrist position, thereby creating two-term President Bill Clinton. Sullivan argues that a two-term Obama might rejigger the GOP enough to get them a big winner next time out.

    the Polls are wrong!
Most of them are giving Obama a LARGER turnout this election than he had in 2008, which simply isn't going to happen. He will get LESS turnout this time around.

Thankfully Americans are smarter than maplebar and his gang of ditto heads
hey, Is that Glenn Beck? caught you looking!

but seriously.. Mitt is so out of touch with mainstream America, he can't even pretend to represent us

Mitt plans to represent the Oil companies, Big Healthcare, Big Pharma.

Americans are smarter than that. We want a President who represent US! We finally have health care! No more DADT! No more deporting working families!.. four more years!!!!

The debates are going to be a hit! Tax returns, repealing the pre existing conditions clause, big payoff to military and war profiteers. His lack of foreign policy experience. Rmoney has NO chance of convincing Mainstream Americans that he will represent us.
