What to do this weekend in Seattle and the traffic it will cause

Summer may be coming to a close, but you won’t be able to tell by all the events in Seattle this weekend. That means you should be prepared — traffic will be crazy.
For example, PARK(ing) Day Plus+ is Friday and Saturday in neighborhoods across the city, which will take away parking spots and add tiny parks to streetsides across the city.

Then there’s the Susan G. Komen 3-day walk that starts Friday. Not to mention the South Park Parade; Seattle Sounders, Mariners and Husky games; and a Blink-182 concert at KeyArena.
Wednesday, Sept. 14 – Sunday, Sept. 18
Seattle Boats Afloat Show: The 38th annual Boats Afloat Show on South Lake Union will include ski boats, sailboats, cruisers and mega yachts on display. Show hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. About 6,400 people are expected to attend.
Friday, Sept. 16
2016 Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions: At KeyArena at 7:30 p.m. About 6,000 people are expected to attend.
Friday, Sept. 16 & Saturday, Sept. 17
PARK(ing) Day Plus+: PARK(ing) Day Plus+ has been expanded to two days and gives people the opportunity to temporarily turn on-street parking spots into public spaces or pop-up parks. The program is intended to encourage creative spaces while raising awareness about the importance of walkable, livable, and healthy communities. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in more than a dozen neighborhoods across the city.
Friday, Sept. 16 – Sunday, Sept. 18
Susan G. Komen 3-Day: Annual fundraising walk starts and finishes at Memorial Stadium in Seattle Center. Opening Ceremony at 7 a.m. at Seattle Center North Fountain Lawn. Walk begins Friday morning, participants return throughout the day on Sunday. About 750 people are expected to attend.
Saturday, Sept. 17
Seattle Sounders vs. Vancouver White Caps, 1 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. About 50,000 people are expected to attend.
Washington Huskies vs. Portland State, 5 p.m. at Husky Stadium. About 70,000 people are expected to attend. (Go Dawgs!)
Blink-182 Concert: Key Arena at 7 p.m. About 11,000 people are expected to attend.
Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field
Friday, Sept. 16: Mariners vs. Astros, 7:10 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 17: Mariners vs. Astros, 6:10 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 18: Mariners vs. Astros, 1:10 p.m.
