Seattle traffic is always a factor when planning your weekend. And a few things could slow you down this weekend as you roll through the Seattle region.
In Seattle, if you are making a trip to the U-District, the Montlake Bridge will be closed overnight Saturday and Sunday. Luckily, the Huskies are away this weekend. Pedestrians and bicyclists can still use the bridge.
I-5 southbound through Federal Way will be reduced to one lane from 288th in Tukwila to 320th on Friday, starting at 8 p.m. to noon throughout the weekend. Those lanes should be back to normal by Monday morning, but if you are planning a trip to Sea-Tac Airport, check your route before you leave. In the past we have seen backups to SR 518 because of these closures.
Eastbound I-90 through Mercer Island after Rainer will be rerouted to the express lanes Friday night and Saturday night, but the lanes should be back to normal by Sunday when the Seahawks play the 49’ers at Century Link Field.
