Facts were not Donald Trump’s friend in Monday night’s debate.
Not to say Hillary Clinton was a saint. She said she never fully supported the Trans-Pacific partnership treaty when in fact she once called it the “Gold Standard.”

But Trump was wrong about NATO only recently deciding to fight terrorism, he was still talking about taking Iraq’s oil, which is illegal by the way. He again insisted he was an opponent of the Iraq war from the beginning, when his public opposition came only after it started.
And he said the United States has failed to keep its nuclear arsenal up-to-date. Contradicting what the general in charge of the nuclear bombers said Sunday on “60 Minutes.”
“We can put this aircraft anywhere we want, anytime we want,” he said. “It’ not just show-and-tell. It will deliver.”
I know the planes are old, but it sounds like the bombs are pretty serious.
The weirdest moment, though, was when he was asked if he still thought Hillary Clinton didn’t have the stamina to be president:
“I don’t believe she does have the stamina,” Trump said. “To be president of this country, you need tremendous stamina.”
I don’t know — for someone who was supposedly going to die of pneumonia, she looked pretty healthy to me.
Unless it was her body double …
But at least they agreed on the most important thing:
“I certainly will support the outcome of this election,” Clinton said.
“If she wins, I will absolutely support her,” Trump said.
Reassuring us that if the next president does end up starting a war, at least it won’t be a civil war.
