Washington's Taiwo sets world record
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - Washington's Jeremy Taiwo set a world record when he cleared 7 feet, 4 1/2 inches in the high jump segment of the heptathlon at the Boise State Challenge on Friday.

Taiwo just edged the record of 7-4 1/4 for the high jump portion of the event. His previous best was 6-11 1/2.
Taiwo won all four events on the first day of the heptathlon and leads the overall standings with 3,570 points.
