Ex-Husky Desmond Trufant shows speed at combine
Former Washington cornerback Desmond Trufant entered the NFL scouting combine riding high after what was unanimously considered a strong week at the Senior Bowl. He's kept that momentum going with a blazing fast time in the 40-yard dash.
Trufant ran a 4.38 Friday, an official time than ranks third among defensive backs at the combine. It was tied for eighth-fastest among all players.
NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said after Trufant's second run that he put to bed any questions about his speed.
On Monday, Trufant completed 16 bench-press repetitions at 225 pounds, tied for sixth most among players listed as defensive backs. His 37.5-inch vertical jump was tied for seventh best and his 125.0-inch broad jump was tied for 12th.
Defensive backs are going through on-field workouts at the moment.
