Seferian-Jenkins makes preseason All-America team

By Brady Henderson

Most of the attention on Austin Seferian-Jenkins has focused on his offseason DUI arrest and whether or not he'll be suspended for the Huskies' season opener.

Now, for some football-related news regarding the Huskies' star tight end: Seferian-Jenkins was named to SportsIllustrated.com's Preseason All-America Team on Thursday. He's the only Husky on either the first or second team and one of 12 players from the Pac-12 to be included.

Seferian-Jenkins, a junior from Fox Island, Wash., has 110 receptions, 1,388 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in two seasons -- all career records for a Washington tight end. He set single-season school records for a tight end with 69 catches and 850 yards last season, when he was one of three finalist for the John Mackey Award, given annually to the nation's best tight end.

Washington coach Steve Sarkisian has been mum on whether or not he'll suspend Seferian-Jenkins for the Huskies' Aug. 31 opener against Boise State, saying any discipline he hands down will be kept internal.
