UW reinstates Miles; Stringfellow to transfer

By Brady Henderson

Quarterback Cyler Miles has been reinstated to Washington's football program while wide receiver Demore'ea Stringfellow has decided to transfer.

Coach Chris Petersen made the announcements Wednesday.

Miles and Stringfellow had been suspended since Feb. 6 for a violation of team rules. Stringfellow was charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault and one count of malicious mischief -- both gross misdemeanors -- after two incidents following the Seahawks' Super Bowl victory on Feb. 2.

Miles was not charged. His reinstament means he's now eligible to participate in team activities.

UW's press release did not specify which program Stringfellow will transfer to.

The release also noted that tailback Ryan McDaniel has retired from the football program because of knee issues.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
